Safe Food Handling in the Home
Appropriate hygiene, safe handling and storage of food can prevent serious health hazards. You will learn how to safely prepare and serve food in someone's home and the roles and responsibilities of safe food handling.
By participating in this course, the food handler will learn the basic principles of safe food handling to ensure the food they prepare remains safe to eat.
- Describe the importance of safe food handling including the legal requirements
- Identify food safety hazards in the home including common high risk foods
- Know your role and responsibilities regarding food safety and how to prepare, store and serve food in a home setting
